Previously, we showed you Emergency Bike Repair Kits. Those kits were small and inexpensive. Their job was to get you on the road or trail again until you could get to your destination or finish your ride.

Now, we are talking about a complete bike tool kit. This could be a smaller one that would go in the trunk of your car, your pickup truck, or van. It may be specific to the type of bike or riding you’ll be doing. For example, mountain biking or road touring. If you are only doing off road and mountain biking, you would want to look at specific mountain bike tool kits.

The larger and more complete home tool kits are for your garage or workshop. Serious bikers will be familiar with the Bikehand and the Park Bike Tool Kit.

Complete Bike Tool Kits Under $100

What are we talking about here? Basically, we are looking for a good tool kit that we can put in our car or truck. It should come in either a tool box or a hard cover case. It should be easy to carry from the house to the car and if needs be from the car or truck to the bike.

These aren’t tool kits that you would put in your backpack, although they average in weight to about 5 pounds. Each of these also come in a portable (hand carry) hard case.

One of the first things I will be listing in each of these kits is the length of the warranty. In my opinion, nothing speaks to quality like the company putting their name behind it with a good warranty. I will also put the Amazon satisfaction rating in, as well, because that not only speaks about quality, but also speaks about customer service.

Something else that you need to look closely at is Amazon’s return policy. Some of these products will only give a full refund or replacement if it arrives damaged. In addition, you may only have 30 days after you get it to make the claim for replacement as some of these kits are non-returnable. So, 1) read the fine print before you order. 2) Check other customer’s reviews on the kits. 3) Check the tools and use the kit when you get it so you meet any time requirements Amazon and the vendor have for refunds or replacements.

None of these sets have a torque wrench, but a good torque wrench would put them all over $100. Plus, the average biker who is being one of these sets most likely won’t need one.

Conclusion:

Well, after going through these, if you are confused, then you aren’t the only one.

Going through the pictures alone tells a good story. I’m not a fan of the multi-tools for something I will have at home. For the road or portability, I can understand having it, though.

The warranties make some difference; however, if you are buying the kit and going to use it right away, then you should meet all of its requirements within its timeline.

If you are buying a bike repair kit for future use, check all the tools upon arrival. Look for those with a longer warranty/guarantee period.
